REMEMBERING THE NUCLEAR MARTYRS: HIROSHIMA & NAGASAKI ATTACKS

I dedicate this post to all those who, even though were innocent, still suffer the greatest curse of all times- The victims of the Hiroshima & Nagasaki nuclear attacks. It has been more than 6 long decades now when mankind confronted its darkest day following the rage of revenge over the Pearl Harbor attack in the USA- The Hiroshima & Nagasaki nuclear attacks. Japan faces the curse even today and the suit will continue in future as well.

TECHNICAL ASPECT:

It was on 6th August, 1945 that the "Little Boy" wrecked havoc in the city of Hiroshima. It was a nuclear bomb weighing 600 kg and could result in a destruction approximately equal to the explosion 17-19 kilotons of TNT. It gained this immense power from the nuclear fission reaction of U235- an isotope of Uranium.

Following the Hiroshima attack was another nightmare- the "Fat Man" that (who) resulted in a chaos in the city of Nagasaki on 9th August,1945. This one was even bigger, heavier and more disastrous than the "Little Boy". It had a diameter of 1.5 meters, weighed approximately 4,500 kg and had a destructive power equal to 21 kilotons of TNT. The weapon was a build of Pu239- an isotope of Plutonium that again gained its energy by uncontrolled chain nuclear fission reaction.

CONSEQUENCES:

Cities turned graveyards, crops were rotten, water turned poisonous- The attacks claimed more than 250,000 lives. Many died an indirect death due to flash burns and The aftermaths are still visible to the residents of the respective cities. The successors of the radiation affected multitude still suffer genetic disorders. People still suffer from Leukemia and solid cancer. Pregnant women gave birth to either physically or mentally retarded infants, or suffered complete miscarriage for the lifetime. The cities still suffer earthquakes causing loss of health and wealth to mankind.
Lets mourn for the ones who have lost their lives and loved ones in the unfortunate scene that resulted as a consequence of the battle to be the best, but was nothing more than a path of devastation. Lets pledge to put our heart and soul to create a better planet!
